Downtown Daegu is the area around Jungangno and Banwoldang subway stations: the Dongseongno pedestrian streets, The Hyundai Daegu department store and the Modern History Alley. Gasik Banwoldang is on Namseong-ro in this area, about 140 m (2 min on foot) from the Yangnyeongsi Museum of Oriental Medicine and about 460 m (7 min) from Gyesan Cathedral.

Downtown (Dongseongno, Banwoldang) and Suseong-gu (Beomeo) have the most restaurants that are easy to use without Korean. Gasik has three locations in those areas with an English menu page and prices listed: steak ₩29,900–37,900 and pasta from ₩16,000. Open daily 11:30–21:30, last order 21:00; the Banwoldang location is closed on Mondays.

It depends what you want. For Korean food Daegu is known for makchang (grilled pork intestines), ttaro-gukbap (rice and soup served apart), napjak-mandu (flat dumplings) and yaki-udon — best found around Anjirang, Dongin-dong and Seomun Market. For a Western meal with an English menu, Gasik is one option: three locations downtown and in Suseong-gu, rated ★4.85 with 10,000+ Naver reviews, listed in the Blue Ribbon Survey (not Michelin — Daegu has no Michelin-starred restaurants).

Gasik is a casual Western restaurant rather than a dedicated steakhouse, but steak is the signature: Red Pepper Flat Iron Steak ₩37,900 (top blade slow-smoked over oak chips, cooked to the chef's doneness (medium rare), not chosen per order) and Teriyaki Pork Neck Steak ₩29,900. No steak course menu — everything is à la carte.

Gasik serves five pastas ₩16,000–21,000 (shrimp Toowoomba cream, Mediterranean vongole, white ragù paccheri, anchovy & eggplant, meatball tomato), three pizzas ₩20,900–22,900 (truffle mushroom, steak, bacon potato) and monkfish miso risotto ₩17,000. It is Italian-leaning Western food, not a certified Italian trattoria.

No. We are not halal certified and the same kitchen prepares pork. For halal food in Daegu, look for certified halal or Muslim-friendly restaurants near Kyungpook National University, where the halal-certified options are concentrated.

There is no dedicated vegan menu. Vegetarian choices and gluten-limited requests can be accommodated on request — tell the staff when you order. Dishes that work without meat include the truffle mushroom pizza and the Mediterranean vongole is seafood, not vegetarian.

Yes. Single portions of pasta (₩16,000–21,000) or risotto (₩17,000) are normal orders, and there is no minimum. Weekday lunch is the quietest time.

Open daily (Banwoldang: closed Mon) 11:30–21:30, last order 21:00, no break time in the afternoon, open year-round including holidays. We are not a late-night venue — the kitchen closes at 21:00.

Naver booking is available (links on the English home page) and phone works too. Weekday walk-ins are usually fine; weekend evenings 18:00–19:30 fill up first. Groups of 5+ should call the branch.

Suseong-Beomeo: building parking, Beomeo Station (Line 2) exit 8, 459 m / 7-minute walk. Banwoldang: use The Hyundai Daegu parking, Banwoldang or Jungangno stations. Samdeok: nearby public parking, Kyungpook Nat'l Univ. Hospital Station (Line 2).

No to all three. All three locations are indoor hall seating only, and pets are not allowed. Tables for 4–8 are available at Suseong-Beomeo.
