We run three Western restaurants in Daegu, so this guide is written from here. It covers what Daegu is actually known for, where the eating areas are, and — plainly — what we do and don't serve, with prices.

If you want a break from Korean food, Western and Italian-leaning restaurants are mostly downtown (Dongseongno, Samdeok) and in Suseong-gu (Beomeo). That is where we are.

What are the best restaurants in Daegu for foreigners?
It depends what you want. For Korean food Daegu is known for makchang (grilled pork intestines), ttaro-gukbap (rice and soup served apart), napjak-mandu (flat dumplings) and yaki-udon — best found around Anjirang, Dongin-dong and Seomun Market. For a Western meal with an English menu, Gasik is one option: three locations downtown and in Suseong-gu, rated ★4.85 with 10,000+ Naver reviews, listed in the Blue Ribbon Survey (not Michelin — Daegu has no Michelin-starred restaurants).
Is there a steakhouse in Daegu?
Gasik is a casual Western restaurant rather than a dedicated steakhouse, but steak is the signature: Red Pepper Hanger Steak ₩37,000 (top blade slow-smoked over oak chips, medium rare by default, other doneness on request) and Teriyaki Pork Belly Steak ₩29,900. No steak course menu — everything is à la carte.
Where can I get Italian food, pasta or pizza in Daegu?
Gasik serves five pastas ₩16,000–20,000 (shrimp Toowoomba cream, Mediterranean vongole, white ragù paccheri, anchovy & eggplant, meatball tomato), three pizzas ₩16,900–17,900 (truffle mushroom, steak, bacon potato) and monkfish miso risotto ₩17,000. It is Italian-leaning Western food, not a certified Italian trattoria.
Do you have an English menu and take foreign cards?
Yes. English menus at all three locations and all international cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, JCB, UnionPay). Staff can guide allergens.
Is the food halal?
No. We are not halal certified and the same kitchen prepares pork. For halal food in Daegu, look for certified halal or Muslim-friendly restaurants near Kyungpook National University, where the halal-certified options are concentrated.
Do you have vegan or vegetarian options?
There is no dedicated vegan menu. Vegetarian choices and gluten-limited requests can be accommodated on request — tell the staff when you order. Dishes that work without meat include the truffle mushroom pizza and the Mediterranean vongole is seafood, not vegetarian.
Can I eat alone? Is solo dining OK?
Yes. Single portions of pasta (₩16,000–20,000) or risotto (₩17,000) are normal orders, and there is no minimum. Weekday lunch is the quietest time.
What time do you open? Are you open now / open late?
Open daily 11:30–21:30, last order 21:00, no break time in the afternoon, open year-round including holidays. We are not a late-night venue — the kitchen closes at 21:00.
Do you take reservations? Do I need one?
Naver booking is available (links on the English home page) and phone works too. Weekday walk-ins are usually fine; weekend evenings 18:00–19:30 fill up first. Groups of 5+ should call the branch.
Is there parking? Which subway station?
Suseong-Beomeo: building parking, Beomeo Station (Line 2) exit 8, 2 minutes. Dongseongno: use The Hyundai Daegu parking, Banwoldang or Jungangno stations. Samdeok: nearby public parking, Kyungpook Nat'l Univ. Hospital Station (Line 2).
Do you have private rooms, outdoor seating, or allow pets?
No to all three. All three locations are indoor hall seating only, and pets are not allowed. Tables for 4–8 are available at Suseong-Beomeo.
How much is dinner for two?
From ₩36,900 (one pasta + one pizza) to ₩56,000 (hanger steak + pasta). The most-ordered set for 2–3 people is hanger steak + shrimp Toowoomba + truffle mushroom pizza = ₩77,900. Wine by the glass ₩9,000, corkage available.
